Megalopolis is a Roman epic set in a fictional contemporary America. The city of New Rome must change, and conflict arises between the genius artist Cesar Catiline (Adam Driver), who wants to plunge into a utopian, idealistic future, and his adversary, the loyal Mayor Franklin Cicero (Giancarlo Esposito), who wants to uphold a regressive status quo and perpetuate greed, special interests and factional strife. The mayor’s daughter, socialite Julia Cicero (Nathalie Emmanuel), is torn between the two, and her love for Cesar splits her loyalties, forcing her to find what she believes humanity truly deserves.
