The Last Wish Movie Story
Original Story: During the Russian invasion of Ukraine, promising Spanish actor Ángel Flores returns to Spain to fulfill his drama teacher Miguel Lama’s last wish. Ten years ago, due to a personal tragedy, Ángel fled to Mexico, where he became a star of a TV series. Miguel Lama’s last wish for Ángel is to go to a remote monastery in the mountains of northern Spain, read every page of Dostoyevsky’s thousand-page novel The Brothers Karamazov three times, and then come every night to say goodbye to his grave in the monastery’s cemetery. Tell him how he has progressed through the novel. This magical experience helps him understand the role of reading in uncovering the mystery of Ángel’s tragedy and healing inner personal trauma.
