Darryl (Michael Keaton), a successful real estate agent, is a heavy cocaine addict. After embezzling company funds, he wakes up next to a girl who has overdosed. To hide from the police, he enrolls in a rehabilitation program that guarantees his anonymity. Under the guidance of counselor Craig (Morgan Freeman), Darryl realizes that he has a drug problem. He falls in love with fellow patient Charlie (Kathy Baker) and begins a new, sober life.
